With the profile of its teeth combined to high speed, it generates a direct mechanical action, imposing the ideal speed on the material and thus creating an intense turbulence that causes hydraulic friction between the disc and the product.

The proper selection of the disperser disc and the correct sizing of the tank ensure the desired action, with flow patterns controlled in the tank, even in viscosity of 50,000 centipoises. Standardized Cowles disperser discs are usually manufactured in stainless steel and are easily removable from the shaft for replacement, cleaning or maintenance.
